Mi inserisco nel tema, che trovo molto attuale e per niente relegato ai cittadini definiti "anziani". Pur lavorando nel campo ICT da oltre 20 anni, ammetto che ultimamente trovo non poche difficoltà in molte delle azioni quotidiane che la burocrazia nazionale richieste ai cittadini. E non parlo esclusivamente del "ritiro denaro" dagli ATM, operazione di per sé anche piuttosto facile, quanto di tutta una serie di artifizi di pseudo-sicurezza messi in atto non solo dalle Banche ma anche da Enti pubblici per aumentare la confusione e le difficoltà nei cittadini. Ad esempio, pagamenti della TARI via F24, di cui esistono **ben** 3 (o 4?) tipologie diverse: semplificato, complicato... Pagamento dei servizi scolastici via App IO, che dopo 3 mesi che non fai accesso devi re-autenticarti via SPID, sperando che l'identity provider funzioni e che il sistema di pagamento sia operativo, altrimenti ti blocca tutto per almeno 30 minuti. Rinnovo della patente senza recarsi necessariamente alla posta. Google faces €25bn lawsuit in UK and EU over digital advertising

The company, which is a key player in the online ad market as well as being a dominant force in search, is accused of abusing its power in the ad tech market, which coordinates the sale of online advertising space between publishers and advertisers. “Publishers, including local and national news media who play a vital role in our society, have long been harmed by Google’s anticompetitive conduct,” said Damien Geradin, of the Belgian law firm Geradin Partners which is involved in the EU case. “It is time that Google owns up to its responsibilities and pays back the damages it has caused to this important industry. That is why today we are announcing these actions across two jurisdictions to obtain compensation for EU and UK publishers.” The UK law firm Humphries Kerstetter is planning to bring a case to the Competition Appeal Tribunal over the next month, although the process could take years to reach a conclusion. The UK competition watchdog is also investigating Google’s power in the digital advertising technology market. Toby Starr, a partner at Humphries Kerstetter, said the claim, which aims to recover advertising revenue lost due to Google’s allegedly anticompetitive behaviour over a period of years, would not just be aimed at benefiting news sites. “This important claim will represent a class of victims of Google’s anti-competitive conduct in ad tech who have collectively lost an estimated £7bn. This includes news websites up and down the country with large daily readerships as well as the thousands of small business owners who depend on advertising revenue – be it from their fishing website, food blog, football fanzine or other online content they have spent time creating and publishing.” The UK claim will be “opt out”, meaning that affected parties will be automatically treated as part of the claim, while the EU claim will be lodged in the Netherlands will be “opt in”, meaning would-be claimants need to apply to join the suit. Starr said he expected “many thousands” of parties in the UK to be part of the claim. The combined suits are seeking total compensation that, according to estimates from legal representatives, could reach €25bn. The suits are being financed by litigation firms in the UK and the Netherlands, which take a cut of any proceeds from a successful case. Contacted for comment, Google referred the Guardian to its statement on the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) investigation, which said: “Advertising tools from Google and many competitors help websites and apps fund their content, and help businesses of all sizes effectively reach their customers. Google’s tools alone have supported an estimated £55bn in economic activity for more than 700,000 businesses in the UK and when publishers choose to use our advertising services, they keep the majority of revenue. We will continue to work with the CMA to answer their questions and share the details on how our systems work.

E' di sette mesi fa ma in Italia non credo di aver letto della petizione online https://change.org/SoyMayorNOidiota che in poche settimane ha raggiunto 600.000 firme. "Ogni giorno è sempre più complicato ritirare o depositare soldi. Non smettono di chiudere le filiali, alcuni sportelli automatici sono complicati da usare, altri si rompono e nessuno risolve i tuoi problemi, ci sono procedure che si possono fare solo online. Nei pochi posti dove c’è lo sportello spesso bisogna prendere appuntamento (attraverso un’applicazione) e gli orari sono molto limitati. La banca è diventata eccessivamente informatizzata. Nel nostro Paese, dei punti 3) e 4) non ne ho mai sentito parlare.... Almeno non cosi' esplicitamente e sinteticamente. Facebook Engineers: We Have No Idea Where We Keep All Your Personal Data

In March, two veteran Facebook engineers found themselves grilled about the company’s sprawling data collection operations in a hearing for the ongoing lawsuit over the mishandling of private user information stemming from the Cambridge Analytica scandal. The hearing, a transcript of which was recently unsealed, was aimed at resolving one crucial issue: What information, precisely, does Facebook store about us, and where is it? The engineers’ response will come as little relief to those concerned with the company’s stewardship of billions of digitized lives: They don’t know. [...] “I don’t believe there’s a single person that exists who could answer that question,” replied Eugene Zarashaw, a Facebook engineering director. “It would take a significant team effort to even be able to answer that question.” [...] The remarks in the hearing echo those found in an internal document leaked to Motherboard earlier this year detailing how the internal engineering dysfunction at Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, makes compliance with data privacy laws an impossibility. “We do not have an adequate level of control and explainability over how our systems use data, and thus we can’t confidently make controlled policy changes or external commitments such as ‘we will not use X data for Y purpose,’” the 2021 document read. [...] https://theintercept.com/2022/09/07/facebook-personal-data-no-accountabilit… Personalmente sono convinto che giochino la carta del fare gli idioti per non pagare pegno, ma di buono c'è che dopo dichiarazioni come queste, nessun DPO potrà sostenere che l'uso dei servizi di Facebook fornisca "adeguate garanzie di protezione dei dati personali". In altri termini, tutti i Titolari che usano i servizi di Facebook sono responsabili di aver violato come minimo l'articolo 28 del GDPR. Voglio proprio vedere cosa si inventeranno questa volta... :-) Giacomo
