aggiungere io?!?
Semmai io intuisco come NON uscirne, cioè facendo politicamente e

Neo-Nazis and QAnon: how Canadian truckers’ anti-vaccine protest was steered by extremists | Canada | The Guardian
by Alberto Cammozzo
<https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/feb/08/canada-ottawa-trucker-protest…>
Thousands of demonstrators have successfully occupied Canada’s frigid
capital for days,
<https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/feb/07/ottawa-protesters-defy-deadli…>
and say they plan on staying as long as it takes to thwart the country’s
vaccine requirements.
The brazen occupation of Ottawa
<https://www.theguardian.com/discover-cool-canada/ottawa> came as a
result of unprecedented coordination between various anti-vaccine and
anti-government organizations and activists, and has been seized on by
similar groups around the world.
It may herald the revenge of the anti-vaxxers.
The so-called “freedom convoy” – which departed for Ottawa on 23 January
– was the brainchild of James Bauder, an admitted conspiracy theorist
who has endorsed the QAnon movement and called Covid-19 “the biggest
political scam in history”. Bauder’s group, Canada
<https://www.theguardian.com/world/canada> Unity, contends that vaccine
mandates and passports are illegal under Canada’s constitution, the
Nuremberg Code and a host of other international conventions.
Bauder has long been a fringe figure, but his movement caught a gulf
stream of support after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced last
year that truckers crossing the US-Canada border would need to be fully
vaccinated against Covid-19. The supposed plight of the truckers proved
to be a compelling public relations angle and attracted an array of
fellow travelers.
Until now, a litany of organizations had protested Canada’s strict
public health measures, but largely in isolation. One such group, Hold
Fast Canada, had organized pickets of the Canadian Broadcasting
Corporation’s headquarters, where they claimed that concentration camps
had already been introduced in the country.
Another group, Action4Canada, launched legal challenges to mask and
vaccine mandates. In one 400-page court filing, they allege that the
“false pronouncement of a Covid-19 ‘pandemic’” was carried out, at least
in part, by Bill Gates and a “New World (Economic) Order” to facilitate
the injection of 5G-enabled microchips into the population.
Both groups are listed as “participating groups” on the Canada Unity
website, and sent vehicles and personnel to join the convoy.
Other organizers joined Bauder, including Chris Barber, a Saskatchewan
trucker who was fined $14,000 in October for violating provincial public
health measures; Tamara Lich, an activist for a fringe political party
advocating that Western Canada should become an independent state;
Benjamin Dichter, who has warned of the “growing Islamization of
Canada”; and Pat King, an anti-government agitator who has repeatedly
called for Trudeau to be arrested.
Since they have arrived in Ottawa, the extreme elements of the protest
have been visible: neo-Nazi and Confederate flags were seen flying,
QAnon logos were emblazoned on trucks and signs and stickers were pasted
to telephone poles around the occupied area bear Trudeau’s face,
reading: “Wanted for crimes against humanity.”
The official line from Bauder and his co-organizers, however, has
remained focused; in a Facebook live broadcast, Bauder instructed his
supporters to “stop talking about the vaccine” and instead stick to
message of “freedom”.
Such strict message control has attracted mainstream support. Numerous
members of the Conservative party, Canada’s official opposition, have
come out to meet the protesters. Elon Musk and Donald Trump have both
endorsed the convoy. Fox broadcasters Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson
have provided glowing updates on the continuing occupation.
Bauder vowed the convoy would camp out in Ottawa until their demands are
met, insisting to his followers that a “memorandum of understanding
<https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/feb/07/ottawa-protests-explainer-vac…>”
would force the government’s hand, possibly even triggering fresh
elections, if enough people sign.
A Canada Unity organizer went further, saying it would require the
Senate to “go after the prime minister” for “corruption” and “fascism”.
There is no legal basis for those claims.
King has laid out a more direct plan of action to the occupiers: “What
we want to focus on is our politicians, their houses, their locations,”
he said in a January Facebook stream. If political pressure doesn’t
work, King said, blocking major supply chains “will be later on”.
Soon after, the head of security for Parliament issued an extraordinary
warning to Members of Parliament to avoid the protest entirely, for
their own safety.
The occupiers have deliberately made life difficult for anyone in
Ottawa’s downtown core. Trucks have been laying on their air horns
throughout the day, often well into the early morning hours. An Ottawa
court granted an injunction Monday afternoon, ordering that the honking
must cease.
In the shadow of Parliament, a flatbed truck was converted into a stage
– functioning as a speaker’s corner during the day, where far-right
politicians and occupiers took the microphone to decry Trudeau and Covid
vaccines. At night, the stage functions as a DJ booth for raucous dance
parties.
Technology has made the occupation even easier: drivers share
information on routes and the best ways to evade police barricades via
the walkie talkie app Zello. Organizers in other cities use the secure
messaging app Telegram to share information, coordinate messaging and
plan solidarity protests.
The occupiers now have the resources to stay for an extended period of
time: they have raised more than C$6mthrough various crowdfunding
platforms, in cash and Bitcoin, despite having been booted from
GoFundMe’s platform
<https://www.theguardian.com/global/2022/feb/07/gofundme-criticism-pulling-f…>
after raising over C$10m.
The Ottawa occupation is proof that a few thousand determined protesters
can overwhelm police and shut down major cities with enough vehicles and
coordination. Solidarity convoys have already shut down the busy Coutts
border crossing between Alberta and Montana, strained police resources
in Toronto and Quebec City, and activists as far away as Helsinki,
Canberra, London, and Brussels have taken not. On the convoy channels,
protestors warn this is just the beginning.

Peter Thiel, PayPal founder and Trump ally, to step down from Meta board | Facebook | The Guardian
by Alberto Cammozzo
<https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2022/feb/07/peter-thiel-meta-faceboo…>
Peter Thiel, the co-founder of PayPal and Palantir Technologies, is
stepping down from the board of Facebook’s parent company, Meta, after
17 years.
Thiel, Facebook’s longest-serving board member and a major donor to the
Republican party, plans to focus on backing Donald Trump’s allies in the
November midterm elections, according to the New York Times. He recently
donated $10m each to the Senate campaigns of Blake Masters, who is
running for a seat in Arizona, and JD Vance, who is running in Ohio.
Masters is the chief operating officer of Thiel’s family office and
Vance used to work at one of Thiel’s venture funds.
Thiel has long been a controversial figure on Facebook’s 10-person
board, particularly as one of a few major tech figures who vocally
supported Trump. Thiel, who donated millions of dollars to Trump’s
campaign and served on the ex-president’s transition team, was seen by
critics as a part of the reason Facebook did not take down Trump’s posts
that violated its community standards. Thiel is a close confidant of
Zuckerberg’s. He accompanied him to a private dinner with Trump in 2019
and has successfully advocated he withstand pressure to take political
speech and ads off the platform.
But recently he has publicly criticized Facebook’s content moderation
decisions, saying he’d “take QAnon and Pizzagate conspiracy theories any
day over a Ministry of Truth”.
Thiel joined Facebook’s board in 2005, a year after the company was
founded and seven years before its made its debut on Wall Street. The
company said on Monday that he would stay on until Meta’s next
shareholder meeting later this year, where he would not stand for
re-election.
“Peter has been a valuable member of our board and I’m deeply grateful
for everything he’s done for our company,” said Mark Zuckerberg, chief
executive of Meta, in a statement. “Peter is truly an original thinker
who you can bring your hardest problems and get unique suggestions.”
In a statement on Monday, Thiel called Zuckerberg “one of the great
entrepreneurs of our time” and praised his “intelligence, energy and
conscientiousness”.

Meta says it may shut down Facebook and Instagram in Europe
by Alberto Cammozzo
<https://www.euronews.com/next/2022/02/07/meta-threatens-to-shut-down-facebo…>
Facebook and Instagram may be shut down across Europe, parent company
Meta has said.
The issue comes down to European data regulations that prevent Meta, the
company formerly known as Facebook, from transferring, storing and
processing Europeans’ data on US-based servers.
In its *annual report*
<https://d18rn0p25nwr6d.cloudfront.net/CIK-0001326801/14039b47-2e2f-4054-9dc…>
to the US Securities and Exchange Commission, the country’s financial
authority, Meta warned last Thursday that if no new framework is adopted
and the company could no longer use the current model of agreements it
would probably have to walk away from the continent.
Meta stated that processing user data between countries is crucial for
business and advert targeting.
"If we are unable to transfer data between and among countries and
regions in which we operate, or if we are restricted from sharing data
among our products and services, it could affect our ability to provide
our services, the manner in which we provide our services or our ability
to target ads," the statement read.
Meta clarified that it thinks it will be able to reach a new agreement
this year but if it does not, it stated: "We will likely be unable to
offer a number of our most significant products and services, including
Facebook and Instagram, in Europe".
Meta could previously use a data transfer framework called Privacy
Shield as the legal basis to carry out transatlantic data transfers.
But In July 2020, the European Court of Justice annulled the treaty due
to violations of data protection. The bloc's highest legal authority
argued the standard does not adequately protect European citizens’ privacy.
As a result, US companies were restricted in sending European user data
to the US and have had to rely on SCCs (standard contractual clauses).
The EU and US have said they are working on a new or updated version of
the treaty.
*How has the European Commission reacted?*
"Securing a new arrangement for safe transatlantic data flows is a
priority for us and our US partners," a European Commission spokesperson
told Euronews Next via email.
The negotiations have intensified in the past months, with discussions
at a technical and political level. This includes regular contacts
between Commissioner Reynders and his counterpart, US Secretary for
Commerce, Gina Raimondo, they added.
"Only an arrangement that is fully compliant with the requirements set
by the EU court can deliver the stability and legal certainty
stakeholders expect on both sides of the Atlantic.
"These negotiations take some time, given also the complexity of the
issues discussed and the need to strike a balance between privacy and
national security".
*What has Meta said?*
"We have absolutely no desire and no plans to withdraw from Europe, but
the simple reality is that Meta, and many other businesses,
organisations and services, rely on data transfers between the EU and
the US in order to operate global services," a Meta spokesperson told
Euronews Next in a statement.
Like other companies, Meta said it had followed European rules and
relied on Standard Contractual Clauses, and appropriate data safeguards
to operate a global service.
"Fundamentally, businesses need clear, global rules to protect
transatlantic data flows over the long term, and like more than 70 other
companies across a wide range of industries, we are closely monitoring
the potential impact on our European operations as these developments
progress,” the spokesperson added.
Nick Clegg, Meta’s Vice President of Global Affairs, argued in 2020
Europe without Facebook and Instagram would be detrimental to a lot of
businesses in the EU.
"Thousands of European and US businesses rely on the safe and legal
transfer of data between jurisdictions. International data transfers
underpin the global economy and support many of the services that are
fundamental to our daily lives," Clegg said in a *statement*
<https://about.fb.com/news/2020/09/securing-the-long-term-stability-of-cross…>.
Last week, Meta’s financial report saw its stock plummet by 25 per cent
after the social media giant lost daily active users for the first time
in its history.

dopoguerra.
Il problema è... come uscirne?

ID2020 - Digital Health ID RFP
by 380°
Buonasera nexiane,
proprio stato di vaccinazione (e salute in generale mi pare di capire);
in tutto questo i genitori /mi pare/ possono solo adeguarsi secondo i
proponenti
pagina:
https://id2020.org/digital-health-id-rfp
(archiviata qui: https://archive.is/nbnbv)
--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
The program seeks to provide infants with a portable,
biometrically-linked digital ID either at the point of birth
registration or at the time of routine immunization, simultaneously
supporting four shared objectives:
1- Increasing the number of accurate unique identifications in order to:
- Improve birth registration coverage
- Reduce duplication of health IDs and increase the number and accuracy
of issued health IDs,
- Enhance interoperability in a presently fragmented health system,
- Facilitate re-identification and recovery of personal records, even if
a paper-based record is lost;
2. Driving improvements in vaccination efficiency, coverage, and equity
in order to:
- Enable portability across geographies,
- Increase the number of fully immunized children;
3. Supporting continuity of care across state and non-state health
systems in order to:
- Generate identity portability across health systems,
- Increase accuracy of personal records and provide visibility of needed
follow-up care,
- Enhance service delivery by creating improvements in planning,
reporting, and budgeting,
- Improve health outcomes;
4. Creating a digital ID ecosystem in order to facilitate access to
other services throughout the lifecourse.
- Create consistency and efficiency across federal systems,
- Provide a privacy preserving mechanism prove one’s identity across
personal and commercial settings;
The program will proceed in four phases from mid-2021 to late 2025. The
proposed program will be phased, beginning with a piloting phase, moving
into a regional scaling phase, and culminating in a national scaling
phase. A key outcome of this program is a replicable model by which
digital ID could be scaled in other country contexts.
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---
Vorrei sottolineare in particolare «Enhance service delivery by creating
improvements in planning, reporting, and budgeting»
esattamente stanno sperimentando in Bangledesh.
L'application package [3] include questi documenti:
--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
Appendix-1 Digital Health ID Concept Note.pdf
Appendix-2 Questionnaire Functional & Non-functional Requirements.xlsx
Appendix-3 Procurement instructions.pdf
Appendix-4 Budget Template.xlsx
RFP-Main Document.pdf
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---
Nel documento RFP-Main Document.pdf c'è scritto:
--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
* Biometric Research Study and Design
Given the novelty of infant biometrics, ID2020 and a2i (dovrebbe essere
https://a2i.gov.bd/, n.d.r.) will work with infant biometric vendors to
develop a robust research study. The biometrics capture technology will
be solicited through a separate RFP and implemented in parallel with the
work described in this RFP. The awarded identity solution provider
(selected through this RFP) and the biometrics vendor (selected through
a separate RFP) will work together in the spirit of co-creation. As
such, the RFP assumes a multi-vendor relationship, driving forward
advancements in the field of infant biometric research and building on
principles of good identity.
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---
dettaglio.
Il documento "Appendix-1 Digital Health ID Concept Note.pdf" dice:
--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
The piloting phase will run from May 2020 into late 2020 and will pilot
test the system in two locations: Kapasia and DNCC - Bosilla 1 . The
piloting phase will leverage multiple biometrics vendors in order to
determine fit-for-purpose solution for scale-up. Documentation of the
program will be ongoing throughout all three phases, with a special
emphasis on the piloting phase. The research team will gather data and
generate insights into the economy, efficiency and effectiveness of the
program in realizing its objectives, in order to determine suitability
of scaling the program regionally.
[...] Recently, infant biometric solutions have been proven to be
sensitive enough to allow for authentication of newborn infants
(starting at 6 hours after birth), but these technologies are new and
there is insufficient longitudinal data to establish the necessary
frequency for re-enrollment. By advancing this research, this program
will accelerate the availability of persistent child biometrics,
yielding impact well beyond Bangladesh.
[...] Because lack of a birth certificate can significantly and
negatively impact children’s access to healthcare, schooling, and other
critical rights, there is widespread interest in innovative practices to
increase birth registration coverage.
Identity is also vital to the provision of healthcare services.
Caregivers must know, with a certain degree of accuracy, a patient’s
identity to ensure continuity of care, track services received, and
identify and reach out to individuals in need of care.
[...] While birth registration in many Gavi-eligible countries remains
low, the near ubiquity of the child health card/EPI card creates a
tremendous opportunity. Indeed, in many developing countries, the most
common vital registration is not a birth certificate, but a child health
card.
[...] And finally, creating a unique ID will facilitate access to other
services throughout the lifecourse. For example, the program could be
extended to the education sector, providing a mechanism to identify
out-of-school children and encourage school matriculation. In contrast,
approaches based on simple point-to-point integrations cannot easily be
extended into other sectors,
[...] These digital records of immunization would then help CHWs
identify children defaulting on their vaccines, such that they could
encourage parents to complete the vaccine course.

Re: [nexa] Bloomberg: «Russia invades Ukraina» inadvertently published
by Giovanni Leghissa
cittadini europei. My two cents
