La nostra capacità di percepire la realtà e di interpretarla, in senso platonico, non è fissa, ma dipende dagli strumenti tecnologici che abbiamo a disposizione e dall'abilità e desiderio che abbiamo di impiegarli. In questo senso, il rifiuto dei risultati della scienza è un rifiuto dello sforzo che è necessario per la padronanza degli strumenti dialettici, epistemologici e concretamente di laboratorio o informatici. L'intelligenza artificiale è una componente della realtà: il nostro compito è di plasmarla affinché possa essere impiegata in modo da risultare utile. L'Unione Europea ha stanziato fondi importanti per le iniziative di Explainable AI.
