Salve, scusate se riapro questo thread, ma un mio amico ed ex collega mi ha segnalato questa azienda: https://www.gnucoop.com/ Realizzano soluzioni IT per ONG in tutto il mondo (UNHCR è uno dei loro maggiori clienti), utilizzano esclusivamente software open source e a quanto pare stanno pianificando il rilascio delle loro soluzioni con una licenza libera. Fra i loro progetti un software per la gestione dei campi profughi utilizzato per coordinare ed ottimizzare il lavoro dei volontari in loco. Una splendida realtà *italiana*. Call for expression of interest: High-Level Group on the Impact of the Digital Transformation on EU Labour Markets

The Commission is seeking expressions of interest for 9 members of the High-Level Group, who will act in a personal capacity, independently and in the public interest. The tasks of the group shall be to analyse and advise the Commission on the impact of the digital transformation on EU labour markets and explore policy options, including: - Analysis of how to shape the transformation and what framework conditions to be put in place to make it smooth and human-centric; - Identification of the potential social impacts (risks and opportunities) of digitalisation, in particular the large-scale application of artificial intelligence, and the expected job losses and gains; - Developing responses to the impact digitalisation has on skills requirements; - Exploring viable ways to manage digitalisation's impact on labour law and working conditions; - Identifying ways to use digitalisation (in particular artificial intelligence) to make labour markets more inclusive; - Assessing the impact of digitalisation on income distribution and existing inequality and ways to respond to it; - Defining ways to adapt social security systems to ensure a high level of social protection for all forms of employment; - Evaluating mechanisms to adapt the tax and benefit system to ensure that fair contributions are paid and loopholes are avoided e.g. revision of taxation models; - Breaking down the potential effects of digitalisation by industry and sector of the economy. The HLG will hold its inaugural meeting in June 2018 and is expected to produce a report, with policy recommendations, by early 2019. The Chair of the HLG will be appointed by the Directors-General of DG CONNECT and DG EMPL; the Commission is seeking expressions of interest for the 9 remaining members of the HLG. The deadline to apply is 4 June 2018. Sottoscrivo al 100%: "in uno stato di diritto, il riconoscimento facciale a fini di polizia non funziona" E' pregevole che in Galles abbiano la cura di mostrare i numeri del fallimento, anche se leggermente edulcorati. In paesi "diversamente democratici" questi numeri non appariranno e il riconoscimento facciale continuerà ad essere un successo: il "chilling effect" è assicurato. The mission of Software Heritage is to ensure that this precious body of knowledge will be preserved over time and made available to all. We do this for multiple reasons. To preserve the scientific and technological knowledge embedded in software source code, that is a precious part of our heritage. To allow better software development and reuse for society and industry, by building the largest and open software knowledge database, enabling the development of a broad range of value added applications. And we do this in particular to foster better science, by assembling the largest curated archive for software research, and building the infrastructure for preserving and sharing research software, a necessary complement to Open Access and a stepping stone for reproducibility. BIOGRAFIA [DICOSMO] ROBERTO DI COSMO <http://www.dicosmo.org/index.html>, after obtaining a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Pisa, was associate professor for almost a decade at Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris, and became a Computer Science full professor at University Paris Diderot in 1999. He is currently on leave at Inria. He has been actively involved in research in theoretical computing, specifically in functional programming, parallel and distributed programming, the semantics of programming languages, type systems, rewriting and linear logic. His main focus is now on the new scientific problems posed by the general adoption of Free Software, with a particular focus on static analysis of large software collections, that were at the core of the european reseach project Mancoosi. Following the evolution of our society under the impact of IT with great interest, he is a long term Free Software advocate, contributing to its adoption since 1998 with the best-seller Hijacking the world, seminars, articles and software. He created the Free Software thematic group of Systematic in October 2007, and since 2010 he is director of IRILL, a research structure dedicated to Free and Open Source Software quality. In 2016, he co-founded and directs Software Heritage, an initiative to build the universal archive of all the source code publicly available.
