sono anni che dico che la filter bubble (concetto già introdotto molti anni fa da Cass Sunstein, anche se con un nome diverso) avesse degli effetti diversi da analoghi meccanismi operanti in passato (e ancora adesso) era una IPOTESI, potenzialmente interessante, ma una ipotesi, nulla di piu. Ipotesi che - come tutte le ipotesi - doveva venire validata sperimentalmente prima di poter iniziare a costruirci qualcosa sopra. Niente da fare. È stata promossa a fatto senza aspettare la ricerca. R: Building the networked city from the ground up with citizens

Ho incontrato oggi il Console Statunitense a Milano per proporre un incontro confronto tra le città europee e quelle americane sull'abitare, sulle reti energetiche, quelle sociali, quelle digitali. Temi che avevo trattato con interlocutori europei alla Triennale internazionale. Trovo di grande coerenza la riflessione di Francesca, sono convinto che dalla messa in rete dei municipalismi possa prendere corpo una visione sostenibile nel senso più ampio del termine. A mio parere esempi e concetti presentati in questa intervista dovrebbero essere usati come punto di partenza e condivisione per formare una rete delle città che hanno l'ambizione di governare in modo autonomo e indipendente. Molto interessante. Se ho capito bene, non essendo giurista :-), la Corte Suprema sostiene che il diritto alla libertà di parola garantito dal Primo Emendamento non può essere probito in modo generalizzato, come nel caso in questione in cui ad un pregiudicato di reati sessuali si voleva proibire l'accesso a Facebook. Ed anche la considerazione che siti social quali FB, Twitter e LinkedIn sono ormai parte integrale della struttura sociale e culturale contemporanea e vanno trattati conseguentemente è notevole. La Corte USA rimane l'ultimo baluardo contro la voglia di censura che sta crescendo in modo allarmante? The Special Rapporteur’s June 2017 Report to the Human Rights Council

In his latest report, the Special Rapporteur examines the duty of States to refrain from excessive censorship and surveillance, and to protect and promote a free, open, and secure Internet. He also evaluates the role of digital access providers – not just telecommunications companies and Internet service providers, which have become synonymous with digital access, but also non-consumer facing actors like network equipment vendors, content delivery networks, and Internet exchange points.
