Credo che la cosa vada considerata oltre le fake news. Morozov nota, e io sono d'accordo, che l'industria digitale non si comporta diversamente dalle altre, e che finché nessuno regola il carico sociale, inquina. Inquinare significa non rispettare l'ambiente dal quale si traggono risorse, comportarsi in modo predatorio. Non si tratta di una metafora stiracchiata: in questo caso l'ambiente è sociale e relazionale. The USACM statement asserts that these principles should guide every phase of software system development and deployment. “Algorithmic bias can occur even with the best of intentions,” said Stuart Shapiro, USACM Chair. “This is, in part, due to the fact that both software development and its products can be complex and produce unanticipated results. Following these principles cannot guarantee that there will be no biased algorithms or biased outputs. Nuovo progetto H2020 su IoT, big data e data protection

Presentato oggi all'IT University of Copenhagen il nuovo progetto H2020: VIRT-EU: Values and ethics in Innovation for Responsible Technology in Europe https://en.itu.dk/about-itu/calendar/events/2017/the-ethics-of-internet-of-… @VIRT_EU The project includes five European research partners besides ITU: London School of Economics (UK), Open Rights Group (UK), Uppsala University (SE), Politechnico di Torino (IT) and Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (DK). The goal of the project is to analyze and map the ethical practices of European hardware and software entrepreneurs, maker and hacker spaces, and community innovators in order to: (1) understand how IoT innovators enact ethics as they design future devices, (2) generate a new framework for Privacy, Ethical and Social Impact Assessment (PESIA) and (3) develop tools to support ethical reflection and self-assessment as part the design and development process for IoT technologies. -- Prof. Avv. La nuova geografia dei poteri Convegno organizzato dal Garante per la privacy in occasione della Giornata Europea della protezione dei dati personali 2017* In occasione della Giornata europea della protezione dei dati personali, l'Autorità Garante promuove un convegno intitolato *"Big Data e Privacy.
