This "big reverse" of the web poses all sorts of issues: ranging from policy, to personal privacy, to standardization across devices. Join creator of Drupal and co-founder and CTO of Acquia Dries Buytaert as he discusses what it will take to navigate a web that doesn't look or feel anything like what we know today. About Dries Dries Buytaert is an Open Source developer, technology executive, academic, and hobbyist photographer with two wonderful kids. He was born and raised in Antwerp (Belgium), but moved to the Boston in 2010. Dries is the founder and project lead of Drupal, an Open Source platform for building websites. Drupal is used by 2% of the world's websites. He is also co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Acquia, a venture-backed technology company. They provide the technology platform that helps many large organizations build and operate their digital experiences. He's a Young Global Leader at the World Economic Forum and holds a PhD in computer science and engineering from Ghent University and a Licentiate Computer Science (MsC) from the University of Antwerp. Friends describe him as a "workaholic". While that may be true, he believes it's worth it as both Drupal and Acquia share a desire to enable hundreds of thousands of dreamers and doers to craft the digital world. SANGER FEB. 29, 2016 WASHINGTON — The Obama administration has warned the nation’s power companies, water suppliers and transportation networks that sophisticated cyberattack techniques used to bring down part of Ukraine’s power grid two months ago could easily be turned on them. After an extensive inquiry, American investigators concluded that the attack in Ukraine on Dec. 23 may well have been the first power blackout triggered by a cyberattack — a circumstance many have long predicted. Working remotely, the attackers conducted “extensive reconnaissance” of the power system’s networks, stole the credentials of system operators and learned how to switch off the breakers, plunging more than 225,000 Ukrainians into darkness. In interviews, American officials said they have not completed their inquiry into who was responsible for the attack. But Ukrainian officials have blamed the Russians, saying it was part of the effort to intimidate the country’s political leaders by showing they could switch off the lights at any time. Caro Andrea, Scusa il ritardo nella risposta, ma mi trovo all’estero e con connettività limitata. In ogni caso, se dovessi sintetizzare in un’email gli argomenti finirei inevitabilmente per essere impreciso, nell’articolo trovi i riferimenti e qui altri dettagli sul punto: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/264202766_The_future_of_consumer_d… Aggiungo solo che le deroghe di cui all’art. 83 GDPR non mi paiono risolutive, sia in termini di ambito applicativo, sia perché i Big Data scardinano il modello in maniera più radicale. Non si tratta poi di metodi statistici, bensì di algoritmi predittivi. Per altro, la criticità riguarda non solo i limiti strutturali della normativa vigente, ma la mancata percezione della dimensione collettiva, cui si accennava nell’email precedenti. Ben lieto di discuterne più approfonditamente al rientro in Italia.
