Petizione EU-wide whistleblower protection

Whistleblowers in the EU must be protected <https://whistleblowerprotection.eu/> Whistleblowers need EU protection – lives, environment and money at stake Whistleblowers often risk ending up paying a high price for disclosing information. Yet whistleblowing can be essential in bringing to light – for example – illegal activities, corruption, activities which are contrary to public interest and threats to public health and safety. Whistleblowing can save lives, the environment and money. It is high time for legislation on EU-wide whistleblower protection. Whistleblower protection is in most cases a workers’ right issue. At the same time, not all whistleblowers are employees. Therefore, broad protection should be ensured covering also other than employees. We call on the European Commission to urgently take action on bringing forward proposals on EU-wide legislation on whistleblower protection with a broad scope of groups and areas of activities protected. We call on the European Council to support initiatives ensuring EU-wide whistleblower protection. We call on the European Parliament to continue to call for EU-wide whistleblower protection and to support initiatives ensuring EU-wide whistleblower protection.

Leggendo le FAQ e altri documenti associati alla nuova legge UK, vedo che sono consentite raccolte bulk molto estese. Mi chiedo: non si ripete nella sostanza quanto previsto dalla direttiva 2006/24/EC sulla data retention, condannata dalla ECJ? visto che si parla di "framing" scorretto, sto iniziando a percepire gli articoli di questo tipo come parte dell'agenda dalla silicon valley. perchè ogni assunzione per rendere gli algoritmi (o chi li sviluppa) più accountable, è alla fine un metodo per legittmarli, inserirli in un contesto regolamentato, renderli accettabili ad un mondo che inizia a percepire le problematiche. ma queste soluzioni proposte vanno sempre e comunque nella direzione di consolidamento di un monopolio di dati, necessari a fare training del sistema, ed a consolidare poteri che eventualmente potrebbero smettere d'essere fair, alla bisogna. Se invece la scelta non fosse "gli algoritmi devono essere responsible | accountable | fair | auditable | accurate", ma fosse io posso decidere l'algoritmo che voglio? io posso implementare il mio algoritmo, e l'algoritmo gira sui miei dispositivi, e scelgo io quali algoritmi avere, e posso modificarli se mi va. Questo sarebbe possibile se i content provider fornissero informazioni neutralizzate da ogni ordinamento (tipo "ordine cronogico in formato machine readable") e lasciassero i client decidere quale algoritmo applicare. Se i content provider usano dei valori derivati dalla massa di dati, per giudicare un contenuto, allora possono esportare questo medesimo valore e lasciare che io utente decida che algoritmo applicare. la rete ha come sua forza la decentralizzazione, l'intelligenza ai bordi della rete, l'interpolazione di diverse fonti per dare a te utente la scelta finale che più ti aggrada. Questa possibilità altro non è che l'implementazione della tua volontà. Tu sei responsabile dei valori che ritieni necessari per ottenere un output. I valori (sacrosanti) citati in questo articolo varrebbero solo per chi vuole vendere un algoritmo, o per algoritmi utilizzati in contesti pubblici. ben vengano queste proposte, ma non pensate sia l'unica salvezza per l'umanità connessa. è l'unica salvezza di un mercato centralizzatto, casomai, perchè sono dei compromessi che i 5 della "partnership for AI" sono disposti ad accettare ;) un caro saluto, C On Sun, Nov 20, 2016 at 12:47 PM, J.C. Career Racist Jeff Sessions Is Donald Trump’s Pick For Attorney General

In 1986, President Reagan tapped him to serve as a judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama, but at the time the Senate found him too racist for the post, and he became the second nominee in 50 years to be denied an appointment. During his confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sessions was pressed on accusations that he had called a black prosecutor “boy” and a white civil rights attorney “a disgrace to his race.” He was called out on his comment that he thought the Ku Klux Klan “was OK until I found out they smoked pot” and that the NAACP and ACLU were “trying to force civil rights down the throats of people.” (Sessions denied calling the prosecutor “boy” but not the other comments.)
