I object to the terms of licensing (and their being called "intellectual property policy"). The fact that CC or GPL licensing is submitted to the prior written approval of the DPLA Steering Committee, is clearly unacceptable. Philippe By providing your Submission to the DPLA Beta Sprint, you are granting the Berkman Center, the DPLA Steering Committee, and the DPLA Secretariat a non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and worldwide license to use your Submission for the purposes of carrying out the DPLA’s work and mission, including, without limitation, the license rights to sublicense, store, copy, reproduce, distribute, transmit, publicly display, publicly perform, encode, edit, translate, reformat, and prepare derivative works of your Submission or of any derivative work in any format or medium, and/or to incorporate it into a collective work. Participants may, with the prior written approval of the DPLA Steering Committee, effectuate the license granted upon making a Submission pursuant to this IP Policy through the use of an appropriate “open” license such as a Creative Commons license or the GPL that provides to the Berkman Center, the DPLA Steering Committee, and the DPLA Secretariat all the rights set forth above. Released Neubot 0.3.7

Released Neubot 0.3.7 http://www.neubot.org/neubot-0.3.7 Version 0.3.7 is the fourth generally-available stable release of Neubot, coming after two months of hard work. It is distributed as: a .deb package for Debian and Ubuntu; a zipped application for MacOSX; an installer for Windows XP SP3+. It is also available in source format. This release contains 483 patches, accounting for about 25% of the whole project history. The diffstat says that 131 files have been changed, with 9753 inserted lines, and 12362 deleted lines. Given this large amount of changes it's not possible to list them all, so here we pick just the most relevant ones: o the speedtest Test has been rewritten for improved robustness and reliability; o the privacy policy has been improved to allow the project to share results with other researchers in a better way. Please, take some time to read the improved privacy policy and set the privacy permissions. In order to do that, open the web user interface of Neubot (at http://127.0.0.1:9774/) then go to the "Privacy" tab; o the web user interface has been extended and now includes: a tab to view Neubot logs; a tab to fine-tune privacy permissions; a tab to control all the settings; o the architecture of Neubot has been improved for transparency, allowing to trace and close various bugs; o the core of Neubot has been extended so that now it is possible to configure almost everything from the web user interface; o also, now the configuration of Neubot lives into the database, again to allow to adjust settings via the web user interface; o the architecture of Neubot has been improved for modularity, to simplify the task of writing new Tests; o the database, that used to store opaque results in XML format, now saves them into a table allowing for more advanced filtering and analysis from the web interface. Most of the code has been tested for a long time, thanks to an improved everyday write-test-deploy workflow. In effetti secondo quanto dicono quelli di Current Italia la possibilità di passare allo streaming è un'utopia Il modello economico non sarebbe sostenibile. Non si riesce a pagare 30 persone in Italia vivendo solo di rete. Dovrebbe cambiare il business model di Current e diventare una specie di tv online mischiata con un giornale digitale, ma in ogni caso occorrerebbe licenziare molta gente che lavora per la televisione che inevitabilmente perderebbe di qualità. Ci sarebbe l'ipotesi di passare al digitale terrestre ... Però convertire il business model al digital terrestre comporta il dover mettere in piedi l'infrastruttura di emissione che ora è a carico di Sky in più bisognerebbe gestirai la raccolta pubblicitaria internamente ad oggi fatta anche questa da Sky.
