Released Neubot 0.3.7 http://www.neubot.org/neubot-0.3.7 Version 0.3.7 is the fourth generally-available stable release of Neubot, coming after two months of hard work. It is distributed as: a .deb package for Debian and Ubuntu; a zipped application for MacOSX; an installer for Windows XP SP3+. It is also available in source format. This release contains 483 patches, accounting for about 25% of the whole project history. The diffstat says that 131 files have been changed, with 9753 inserted lines, and 12362 deleted lines. Given this large amount of changes it's not possible to list them all, so here we pick just the most relevant ones: o the speedtest Test has been rewritten for improved robustness and reliability; o the privacy policy has been improved to allow the project to share results with other researchers in a better way. Please, take some time to read the improved privacy policy and set the privacy permissions. In order to do that, open the web user interface of Neubot (at http://127.0.0.1:9774/) then go to the "Privacy" tab; o the web user interface has been extended and now includes: a tab to view Neubot logs; a tab to fine-tune privacy permissions; a tab to control all the settings; o the architecture of Neubot has been improved for transparency, allowing to trace and close various bugs; o the core of Neubot has been extended so that now it is possible to configure almost everything from the web user interface; o also, now the configuration of Neubot lives into the database, again to allow to adjust settings via the web user interface; o the architecture of Neubot has been improved for modularity, to simplify the task of writing new Tests; o the database, that used to store opaque results in XML format, now saves them into a table allowing for more advanced filtering and analysis from the web interface. Most of the code has been tested for a long time, thanks to an improved everyday write-test-deploy workflow. The release has been tested for seven days on Ubuntu Linux 10.10, Windows XP SP3, Windows 7, and MacOSX 10.6. In effetti secondo quanto dicono quelli di Current Italia la possibilità di passare allo streaming è un'utopia Il modello economico non sarebbe sostenibile. Non si riesce a pagare 30 persone in Italia vivendo solo di rete. Dovrebbe cambiare il business model di Current e diventare una specie di tv online mischiata con un giornale digitale, ma in ogni caso occorrerebbe licenziare molta gente che lavora per la televisione che inevitabilmente perderebbe di qualità. Ci sarebbe l'ipotesi di passare al digitale terrestre ... Però convertire il business model al digital terrestre comporta il dover mettere in piedi l'infrastruttura di emissione che ora è a carico di Sky in più bisognerebbe gestirai la raccolta pubblicitaria internamente ad oggi fatta anche questa da Sky. Addio telecomando. Benvenuto mouse. Forse la transizione dalla vecchia televisione alla internevisione la dovremo fare per respirare un po di aria pura. Passare da un modello broadcast ad un modello streaming può non essere facile ma può riservare delle piacevole sorprese. Eliminando i costi della distribuzione broadcast (satellitare o meno) ci si può concentrare sui contenuti. Ed ipotizzare palinsesti su misura ed una guida TV on-line o inviata per posta elettronica o magari su una App. Anche perché sono sicuro che se si andasse a studiare la platea di Current TV scopriremmo che per oltre il 90% è fatta da utenti ampliamente digitali e con propensione alla innovazione. E semmai ci mettiamo Paypal per consentirci il pay-per-stream di alcuni contenuti. Il bello di essere una TV di nicchia, insomma. There is some information on avoiding surveillance and other means of detection while bypassing censorship, however this is a large topic in itself so we have only addressed it where it coincides directly with issues of circumvention. A full discussion of techniques for maintaining anonymity and preventing detection of content or activities is beyond the scope of this book. How and by whom this book was written The first version of this manual featured content that had been largely written at a Book Sprint that took place in November 2008 in the beautiful hills of Upper New York State in the USA. Eight people worked together over an intensive five-day period to produce the book. The updated version of this manual that you are currently reading was compiled in the context of a second Book Sprint held near Berlin, Germany, in early 2011. This time, 11 people worked together over an intensive five-day period. This book is a living document of course and is available online for free, where you can also edit it and improve it. In addition to the material written during the two Book Sprints, material has been contributed from previous publications.
