Exit through the App Store? - Ada Lovelace Institute
by Giovanni Battista Gallus April 22, 2020

April 22, 2020

Carissimi, segnalo uno studio preliminare dell'Ada Lovelace Institute. Questa la sintesi: - There is an absence of evidence to support the immediate national deployment of symptom tracking applications, digital contact tracing applications and digital immunity certificates. - Effective deployment of technology to support the transition from the crisis will be contingent on public trust and confidence, which can be strengthened through the establishment of two accountability mechanisms: the Group of Advisors on Technology in Emergencies (GATE) to review evidence, advise on design and oversee implementation; and an independent oversight mechanism to conduct real-time scrutiny of policy formulation. - Clear and comprehensive primary legislation should be advanced to regulate data processing in symptom tracking and digital contact tracing applications. Legislation should impose strict purpose, access and time limitations. - Until a robust and credible means of immunity testing is developed, focus should be on developing a comprehensive strategy around immunity that considers the deep societal implications of any immunity certification regime, rather than on developing digital immunity certificates. Full and robust Parliamentary scrutiny and legislation will be crucial for any future regime of immunity testing and certification. - Technical design choices should factor in privacy-by-design and accessibility features and should be buttressed by non-technical measures to account for digital exclusion.
by Alberto Cammozzo April 21, 2020

April 21, 2020

E i bambini? [...]

Singapore coronavirus outbreak surges with 3, 000 new cases in three days | World news | The Guardian
by Alberto Cammozzo April 21, 2020

April 21, 2020

Con buona pace del soluzionismo digitale... <https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/21/singapore-coronavirus-outbrea…> Singapore reported a record 1,426 new coronavirus cases on Monday, mostly among foreign workers, pushing its total number of confirmed infections to 8,014. The tiny city-state now has the highest number of cases in south-east Asia, a massive increase from just 200 infections on 15 March, when its outbreak appeared to be nearly under control. About 3,000 cases have been reported in just the past three days. Low-wage migrant workers, a vital part of Singapore’s workforce, now account for at least 60% of its infections. [...]
