[1911.12039] The Limited Reach of Fake News on Twitter during 2019 European Elections
by J.C. DE MARTIN Nov. 28, 2019

Nov. 28, 2019

https://arxiv.org/abs/1911.12039 The Limited Reach of Fake News on Twitter during 2019 European Elections Matteo Cinelli, Stefano Cresci, Alessandro Galeazzi, Walter Quattrociocchi, Maurizio Tesconi (Submitted on 27 Nov 2019) The advent of social media changed the way we consume content favoring a disintermediated access and production. This scenario has been matter of critical discussion about its impact on society. Magnified in the case of Arab Spring or heavily criticized in the Brexit and 2016 U.S. elections. In this work we explore information consumption on Twitter during the last European electoral campaign by analyzing the interaction patterns of official news sources, fake news sources, politicians, people from the showbiz and many others. We extensively explore interactions among different classes of accounts in the months preceding the last European elections, held between 23rd and 26th of May, 2019. We collected almost 400,000 tweets posted by 863 accounts having different roles in the public society. Through a thorough quantitative analysis we investigate the information flow among them, also exploiting geolocalized information. Accounts show the tendency to confine their interaction within the same class and the debate rarely crosses national borders. Moreover, we do not find any evidence of an organized network of accounts aimed at spreading disinformation. Instead, disinformation outlets are largely ignored by the other actors and hence play a peripheral role in online political discussions. My point of view! "Dai il Meglio di te" Madre Teresa
by Agata Lo Tauro Nov. 28, 2019

Svilupoo economico??? Scusate ancora ed have a great day!!!!

The future internet regulation - Aral Balkan at the European Parliament (video)
by Giacomo Tesio Nov. 28, 2019

Nov. 28, 2019

Under article 14 of the ecommerce directive, hosting service providers can benefit from a liability exemption. It goes on to say how European companies implemented this in practice and what worked. So who did we heard from first? Facebook. [...] Facebook is not an hosting service provider [...] This is such fundamental misunderstanding that if this is the presumption under which you are future of the Internet, I despair about the future of our human rights and about the future of our democracies. [...]
by M. Fioretti Nov. 28, 2019

Nov. 28, 2019

La domanda, appena venuta fuori in una discussione su twitter (*) è: do we have reliable estimates of how much raw matter+ energy is needed in TOTAL, from phones to data centers, from mining the materials to using the finished products, to serve e.g. 1M people who are using #5G AS ADVERTISED (always on, and using mostly services that are only possible with 5G, that is very high bandwidth, ultralow latency etc). Your own civil rights and the quality of your life heavily depend on how software is used *around* you
