In the past four weeks three other solution proposals have been tabled at the SCCR by USA, EU and the Africa Group of Delegations. The US Consensus Recommendation and the EU Recommendation are both soft law solutions and the African proposal is a binding Treaty like the BEPM treaty. All are being discussed today Wednesday, and some 15 VI NGOs from all continents and representing all the major language groups are in attendance as Ad Hoc Accredited Observers with the right to speak. Maryanne Diamond, President of WBU, is leading the campaign here in Geneva this week. Attached is an analysis, created overnight by WBU and its campaign partner Knowledge Ecology International, to highlight the similarities and the differences between the four proposals. The progress that is made this week will be contained in the meetings Conclusions expected to be released on Thursday evening and I will post these on the list then. Your support through lobbying your Government's Copyright Office would be much appreciated as we seek to reverse the Book Famine caused in part by the restrictive National jurisdiction of copyright which forbids cross-border exchanges of accessible books produced by VI Organisations and the organisations which serve them. Domanda.. come noto, il ddl intercettazioni prevede 48 ore per la rettifica per le pubblicazioni online, a prescindere se sia testata giornalistica o sito amatoriale. ma sei io diffamo la mia ex sul mio blog e poi devo pubblicare una rettifica, secondo voi, quale è un termine ragionevole perchè io lo debba fare ? perche' ho letto molte opinioni sul fatto che (e concordo) equiparare blog ed editori non vada bene, pero' non ho una idea su quali potrebbero essere tempi ragionevoli. ciao, s. -- blog.quintarelli.it www.eximia.it www.reeplay.it

Cari tutti, Come sapete il centro Nexa lavora anche sul tema dei dati pubblici (PSI secondo l'acronimo inglese che sta per Public Sector Information). Più precisamente, tra le varie attività in questa area, coordina la rete tematica europea LAPSI (Legal Aspects of PSI; www.lapsi-project.eu) ed è coinvolto insieme al Dipartimento di Scienze Giuridiche ed alla Fondazione Rosselli nel progetto di ricerca EVPSI (Extracting Value from PSI: Legal Framework and Regional Policies; www.evpsi.org) Il progetto di ricerca regionale EVPSI sta svolgendo un ruolo di guest-blogger per ePSIplatform (ePSIplatform è l'evoluzione di ePSIplus, che è stata la prima rete tematica in materia di dati pubblici finanziata dalla Commissione Europea con risultati brillanti). Due contributi di Marco Ricolfi sono stati pubblicati sul sito di ePSIplatform. scusate, ma il problema non è quello. pure reale, dei termini temporali per la rettifica... è che si tratta di un'intimidazione bella e buona e la parificazione dell'informazione amatoriale a quella professionale senza gli stessi diritti e tutele.... Giusto che cerchiamo di capirlo, ma farei una riflessione sui siti/blog che vogliono intimidire...quello del mio amico Quinta forse, Wikipedia e Open Polis di sicuro.

In April ten privacy and data-protection commissioners from countries including Canada, Germany and Britain wrote a public letter to Eric Schmidt, Google's boss, demanding changes in Google Buzz, the firm's social-networking service, which had been criticised for dipping into users' Gmail accounts to find "followers" for them without clearly explaining what it was doing.
