Il Progetto Copyleft-Italia.it vuole raccogliere tutte le tesi (di laurea, di master, di dottorato) relative al tema delle nuove frontiere del diritto d'autore. In questi anni di attività del progetto, sono stati molti gli studenti che ci hanno contattato chiedendo informazioni per la stesura della loro tesi, e siamo sicuri che ce ne sono tanti altri che hanno fatto un lavoro interessante. Sarebbe davvero un peccato che questo sforzo di ricerca, rielaborazione e scrittura resti chiuso in un cassetto e non venga condiviso. Vi invitiamo quindi a sottoporci i vostri elaborati, affinchè possiamo valutarli e pubblicarli in un'apposita sezione del nostro sito. Rather than simply a communication system, it has become the backbone of modern society. For many of us it is inconceivable to live life without being 'connected'. New and unexpected applications and services are emerging from cutting-edge technological developments, paving the road for future ones. The recent political and social changes in the Arab world, as a result of a new revolutionary wave of demonstrations and protests (Arab Spring), have repre-sented one of the most striking socio-economic and political developments worldwide. The use of the Internet in these crucial events has dramatically contributed to the spreading out of the protests by bridging the gaps of information between citizens and stimulating a better coordination in terms of actions. [image: futint-logo.jpg] The "*No Disconnect Strategy*" (NDS), launched in December 2011 by Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the European Commission for the Digital Agenda, is one of the actions of the European Commission which recognizes the important role of the Internet and the ICT in the wider strategy for the promotion of Human Rights across the globe. It aims at providing citizens living in non-democratic regimes with the technological tools they need to shield them from indiscriminate surveillance or bypass disproportionate restrictions on their freedom to communicate. *Testing the possible tools and paradigms which may contribute to the goals of the NDS represents an interesting use case for the FIRE facilities, most of which are now planning their next open calls.* Workshop leaflet [image: download.gif]<http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/ict/fire/docs/leaflet.pdf> Objectives This workshop is meant to create mutual awareness and effective synergies between these two EC initiatives, FIRE and the NDS. "Il Presidente Calabrò - ha commentato Mazza - oggi ha di fatto sancito la resa dell'Autorità, consegnando virtualmente la maglia dell'Agcom agli ultras della pirateria. Bene ha fatto l'amministrazione Obama ha mantenere l'Italia nella lista nera dei Paesi con scarsa tutela dei diritti di proprietà intellettuale a causa della mancata adozione del regolamento Agcom, ampiamente promesso anche dal Presidente dell'Autorità in più occasioni. Situazione resa ancora più paradossale dal fatto che la Spagna é invece uscita dalla lista nera con l'adozione di una nuova norma antipirateria" In Italia, secondo i dati di Comscore, circa il 26% degli utenti di internet accede ai servizi illegali. "Proprio in questa fase nella quale si sta sempre più affermando il mercato digitale della musica, in Italia secondo i dati Deloitte, nel primo trimestre del 2012, la musica online ha superato il 30% del totale mercato, con una crescita del 44%, sarebbe stato necessario dare un segnale all'offerta illecita con un provvedimento coraggioso. Alla fine però abbiamo assistito ad un discutibile dietro-front che di certo non ha messo in buona luce il nostro Paese nei confronti dei principali partner commerciali stranieri" ha concluso Mazza. This Report reflects the Administration's resolve to encourage and maintain adequate and effective IPR protection and enforcement worldwide. It identifies a wide range of concerns, including troubling "indigenous innovation" policies that may unfairly disadvantage U.S. rights holders in China, the continuing challenges of copyright piracy over the Internet in countries such as Canada, Italy, and Russia, and other ongoing, systemic IPR enforcement issues presented in many trading partners around the world. USTR looks forward to working closely with the governments of the trading partners that are identified in this year's Special 301 Report, to address both emerging and continuing concerns, and to continue to build on the positive results that many of these governments have achieved. Italy Italy remains on the Watch List in 2012. Piracy over the Internet continues to be a serious concern in Italy. While Italy took some positive steps on IPR enforcement in 2011, these efforts were insufficient to address rampant copyright piracy. The OCR of Italy that USTR announced in the 2011 Special 301 Report was inconclusive due to lingering concerns about piracy over the Internet. In particular, the Italian Communications Authority (AGCOM) has not yet made sufficient progress with respect to adoption of draft regulations to combat piracy over the Internet. The United States urges Italy to intensify its recent efforts to address piracy over the Internet, including by adopting and implementing the AGCOM regulations expeditiously, and by ensuring that those regulations create an effective mechanism against all types of copyright piracy over the Internet. The United States also remains concerned about a Data Protection Agency opinion concerning the monitoring of peer-to-peer networks. The United States encourages Italy to enhance enforcement of its law against the unauthorized camcording of motion pictures in theaters, and take further measures to significantly reduce delays in the adjudication of IPR disputes in Italian courts and ensure that cases reach final sentencing. The United States looks forward to continuing to work with Italy to address these and other matters. Spain removed from the Watch List * Spain - In recognition of Spain's recent efforts with respect to IPR protection and enforcement, the United States has removed Spain from the Watch List. The United States applauds Spain's adoption of regulations implementing the "Ley Sinde," a law to combat copyright piracy over the Internet. The United States will monitor the implementation of these measures and their overall effectiveness in addressing online piracy.
