What if we break away from the idea of compensating the entertainment right holders for supposed harms resulting from this sharing and ask ourselves what is a reasonable reward and financing model for sustaining a many-to-all cultural society? How many people do we need to reward, how much money for support to production of new works? What will be the diversity of attention to works and creators? Which reward for a given level of usage? The talk will open a discussion on these topics, based on work conducted for "Sharing: Culture and the Economy in the Internet Age", forthcoming at Amsterdam Univ. IGF italia Trento 10,11 e 12 novembre

Invio l'invito a partecipare allo svolgimento di IGF Italia che si svolgerà quest'anno a Trento il 10,11 e 12 novembre. I temi che saranno oggetto di IGF sono stati discussi più volte sulla lista nexa con grande competenza e autorevolezza. IGF Italia è uno dei luoghi dove può essere davvero utile portare questa ricchezza. Giulio A Trento, il 10, 11 e 12 novembre ci sarà l’internet governance forum italiano. Internet non è solo la più straordinaria infrastruttura comunicativa del mondo: è diventato il principale motore di cambiamento nella produzione, nell’informazione, nell’apprendimento, nelle relazioni sociali, nella cultura e nella politica. Parlare della sua regole di utilizzo e di funzionamento, significa parlare della possibilità di un nuovo punto di vista sulle più importanti dimensioni della nostra vita. Per questo la governance di Internet non può riguardare solo i governi delle nazioni, ma deve coinvolgere tutti gli “stakeholder”, tutti coloro per i quali l’accesso a internet può significare libertà di espressione, possibilità di lavoro, autonomia della conoscenza, ricchezza di relazioni. E aperto a tutti sarà l’ IGF italiano che si svolgerà a Trento, che proporrà alla discussione non soltanto le diverse dimensioni della governance, dalle regole tecniche alla definizione dei diritti di accesso, ma cercherà di ragionare sugli effetti di queste regole nei più diversi ambiti di influenza della rete, dalla religione alla politica, dalla formazione al lavoro, dalla scienza alla ribellione, dall’infanzia alla reputazione, dallo sviluppo al governo delle città. Il Forum è promosso dalla Provincia Autonoma di Trento, insieme all’istituto IIT del CNR di PISA, all’associazione ISOC, al centro NEXA del Politecnico di Torino. Il Forum non è un convegno, ma una discussione collettiva, alla quale si può partecipare da subito, utilizzando il sito www.igfitalia2011.it e venendo a Trento il 10, 11 e 12 novembre a portare la ricchezza delle esperienze e delle convinzioni di ognuno. Cari tutti, da questo link http://nexa.polito.it/nexafiles/Nexa-Consultazione_AGCOM_2.doc potete scaricare la bozza delle osservazioni allo schema di regolamento della II consultazione AGCom. Abbiamo cercato di inglobare tutti i preziosi suggerimenti del documento condiviso, e di dare una forma accettabile al tutto. Come vedrete vi è ancora molto da fare, ma i tempi sono strettissimi. Entro lunedì dobbiamo finalizzare l'atto che deve esser inviato non oltre il 14 sett. Vi chiediamo di valutarlo e di segnalarci non tanto gli strafalcioni o le imprecisioni di battitura e formattazione, che saranno riviste ed emendate essendo questa comunque una bozza, ma di segnalare eventuali approfondimenti, idee o errori di merito. Il tutto entro domenica.
