*Le conseguenze in Italia di Manifattura 4.0* /Un contributo alla conferenza della CGIL nazionale su 4.0 (R)Evolution Road tenuta a Torino il 24 – 25 ottobre 2016. / Francesco Garibaldo – direttore Fondazione “Claudio Sabattini”. 1. La convergenza della manifattura e dei servizi e la nascita dei sistemi eco-industriali Si tende a fare coincidere manifattura con fabbricazione, quando le nuove tendenze sono verso un’integrazione tra manifattura e servizi. La catena del valore manifatturiera, così rilevante nella Unione Europea (UE), non è fatta, infatti, solo di fabbricazione ma di un insieme variegato di servizi che vanno dalla progettazione ai servizi post-vendita; ciò su cui voglio focalizzarmi sono quei servizi che non sono di supporto alla produzione ma “quelle funzioni di servizio che direttamente e indirettamente danno la spinta ai consumatori nel loro acquisto ed uso di un prodotto” [1]. In realtà esiste un continuum[2] prodotti – servizi che va da puri prodotti, come il cibo, sino a puri servizi, come quelli di consulenza; in mezzo ci sono varie combinazioni e in questo documento ci si sofferma su quelle forme di interdipendenza tra prodotti e servizi che possono essere definite di vera e propria integrazione. Si tratta cioè di quei servizi che costituiscono il vero valore aggiunto del prodotto ibrido, di cui il sostrato fisico è indispensabile, ma a minor valore aggiunto, ed anzi il prodotto manufatto è la via attraverso la quale il consumatore accede a ciò che davvero gli interessa, e cioè il servizio connesso, come ad esempio nel caso degli smart phone. In questi casi si parla di “incapsulamento del servizio (Howells,2000)” e “ in questa concettualizzazione i servizi sono avvolti attorno o incorporati nei prodotti e i servizi producono innovazione in altri settori dell’economia”[3]. È quello che accade ad esempio con lo sviluppo delle applicazioni per gli smart phone o con i servizi di mobilità nel caso dell’automobile. I miei migliori saluti, Aura *********** 1st Future of Law Conference: The Internet of Things, Smart Contracts , and Intelligent Machines Call for Papers School of Law, Singapore Management University 26 – 27 October 2017 The Centre for Cross-Border Commercial Law in Asia (CEBCLA), School of Law, Singapore Management University, is pleased to announce the first Future of Law Conference: The Internet of Things, Smart Contracts and Intelligent Machines, to take place on 26 – 27 October 2017 in Singapore. The Conference aims to bring together the leading thinkers in academia and practice in the field of information technology law to discuss the legal and regulatory implications of recent technological developments. In particular, the first edition of the Conference will focus on the Internet of Things (IoT), blockchains and crypto-ledgers, machine learning, predictive analytics, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, and Augmented Reality. To what extent, if any, does the practical deployment of these technologies challenge the existing legal and regulatory framework? To what extent do they change commercial practices? Will machine learning and smart contracts annihilate the legal profession? Will the Internet of Things blur the division between home and retail environments? What happens if we move from screens and keyboards to voice-based user interfaces? Is technological progress synonymous with the end of privacy? Are new forms of consumer protection required? What is the relevance of bitcoin? What is the impact of crypto-ledgers? Are there reasons to be concerned and plan for legal responses or…. is it all just hype? We invite papers on legal issues relating to the said technologies. Tentative topics include: 1) Privacy and information security 2) New transacting & marketing models, e.g. apps, platforms, sharing economy, smart contracts, ubiquitous computing 3) Paperless trade 4) Legal technology & computational law 5) FinTech, Banking Regulations, Crypto-currencies Call for Papers Scholars who are interested in presenting their papers at the conference can submit their abstracts. CEBCLA welcomes both senior and junior academics from a variety of legal disciplines, including intellectual property law, contract law, international law as well as academics specializing in law and regulation. We also welcome submissions that include interdisciplinary scholarship. The conference has a commercial focus. Priority will therefore be given to those presenters who address the practical legal implications of the said technologies. Interested scholars should submit their request to present by emailing their contact information including their academic affiliation, a short bio (not exceeding 300 words), a title and an abstract of their paper (not exceeding 500 word) as a Word or PDF attachment to CEBCLA to the following email address: futureoflaw(a)smu.edu.sg<mailto:futureoflaw@smu.edu.sg>. More information will be provided on the conference website, which will be available by 31 March 2017. Deadlines The deadline to submit an abstract is 15 April 2017. Late requests will be considered based on availability. We will send notifications of acceptance to selected applicants by 30 April 2017. The Conference program will be available by 1 August 2017. There is no paper publication requirement to present. Please note, however, that at present it is planned to publish selected papers in a special edition of a prestigious academic journal. We will distribute in advance soft-copy (PDF) abstracts of the papers to be presented. Participants who are interested in having their papers published are requested to submit a full paper (preferably the final draft) by 1 October 2017. Please inform us in advance if do not wish your paper to be considered for publication. Although preference is given to full papers, we will also consider abstracts relating to works-in-progress. Conference Schedule (subject to minor changes) The Conference will take place in the new building of the SMU School of Law, 55 Armenian Street, Singapore. It will start on Thursday 26 October 2017 at 9.00 a.m. and continue until 6 p.m. (inclusive of tea and lunch breaks). The Conference will resume on Friday 27 October 2017 at 9 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m. (inclusive of tea and lunch breaks). The Conference format will blend formal presentations and lectures, with interactive panels and informal workshops. The time allotted to each presentation will depend on the final number of presenters. We encourage participants to reserve some of their allocated time for questions and comments.
