We have long since surrendered a record of our curiosities and fantasies to Google. We have broadcast our tastes and addictions for the convenience of one-button Amazon shopping. We have published our health and financial histories in exchange for better and faster hospital and bank services. We have bellowed our angers and frustrations for all to overhear while we walk the streets or ride a bus. Privacy is a currency that we all now routinely spend to purchase convenience. But Google and Amazon do not indict, prosecute and jail the people they track and bug. The issue raised by the National Security Agency’s data vacuuming is how to protect our civil liberty against the anxious pursuit of civic security. It explores two enduring lessons she taught: a substantive lesson that involves embracing complexity and context, and a methodological lesson that involves embracing a framework-driven approach to systematic, evolutionary learning through various interdisciplinary methodologies, theories, and empirical approaches. First, I discuss Ostrom's work on environmental commons. I illustrate the two lessons through a discussion of the tragedy of the commons. Next, I explain how the two lessons play a significant role in recent efforts to extend Ostrom's work on environmental commons to knowledge/cultural commons. I draw a parallel between the tragedy of the commons allegory and the free rider allegory, and show how many of the problems Ostrom explored in the environmental context are manifest in the cultural environmental context. A queste caratteristiche si aggiungono inoltre ulteriori elementi che si affiancano ai tradizionali modelli di finanziamento: il dott. *Alessandro Bollettinari* illustrerà a tal proposito gli aspetti innovativi del crowdfunding, anche alla luce dei recenti interventi normativi, evidenziando inoltre le opportunità per *attività di ricerca scientifica, sociale e culturale*. Nell'ambito del crowdfunding, un elemento decisivo è costituito dalle modalità con cui avviene la raccolta dei finanziamenti, in particolare la nascita di piattaforme online in grado di far incontrare domanda e offerta. Benché tali piattaforme siano prevalentemente generaliste e promuovano progetti appartenenti a diverse categorie creative, come ad esempio Kickstarter <http://www.kickstarter.com/> e Indiegogo <http://www.indiegogo.com/>, esistono piattaforme tematiche dedicate specificatamente all'arte e alla cultura. Peoplefund e il suo progetto WeDidThis <http://www.peoplefund.it/arts/>, ad esempio, sono stati capaci di raccogliere, in poco tempo, più di 1.600 donazioni e finanziare 40 progetti in campo letterario e artistico. Fund For Culture <http://www.fundforculture.org/> promuove invece la realizzazione di una piattaforma di crowdfunding che mette in connessione coloro che intendono nello specifico sviluppare progetti di natura culturale e coloro che invece intendono sostenerli. Segnalo l'uscita del documento - - - - "Analisi delle policies di condivisione dei dati spaziali. Un inquadramento giuridico del tema open (geo)data" - - - - Un documento redatto da me e dal collega Carlo Piana per il Progetto FreeGIS.net. In esso si illustrano le varie norme e policies riguardanti la condivisione di dati spaziali. Questa analisi preliminare è la base per la produzione dei documenti successivi che sono "FreeGIS.net Data License 1.0" (WP5 - Documento 2) e "FreeGIS.net Data License 2.0" (WP 5 - Documento 4), e per la creazione del libro bianco contenente le linee guida per le PA (WP 5 - Documento 3).
