Prof. Luciano Floridi (Oxford University & Trustee of the Nexa Center 
for Internet & Society (DAUIN)) will discuss: *Transdiegetic 
information: what it is and why it matters*.

"Data is one of the few resources that is not only renewable and 
repurposable, it is also expandable and pervasive. As a result, we 
increasingly live in a world of information (/infosphere/ 
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infosphere>). Borrowing some technical 
vocabulary from film studies and game design, in this lecture I shall 
argue that new Information and Communication Technologies are breaking 
the boundaries between diegetic and non-diegetic information, in favour 
of a transdiegetisation of the /infosphere/. The talk does not 
presuppose any previous knowledge and all technical concepts will be 
clearly and simply explained during the lecture."

In 2013 Prof. Floridi has already held a Seminar at the Politecnico di 
Torino, organized by SCUDO and the Nexa Center, entitled "The Onlife

Moreover, Prof. Floridi was one of the main speakers of the "Computer 
Ethics <http://nexa.polito.it/2013-aica-computer-ethics>" Conference at

l'Informatica ed il Calcolo Automatico <http://www.aicanet.it/> and the 
Nexa Center.

Biography of Luciano Floridi

Luciano Floridi is Professor of Philosophy and Ethics of Information at 
the University of Oxford, where he is Senior Research Fellow and 
Director of Research at the Oxford Internet Institute 
<http://www.oii.ox.ac.uk/>, Governing Body Fellow of St Cross College, 
Distinguished Research Fellow of the Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics 
<http://www.practicalethics.ox.ac.uk/>; Research Associate and Fellow in 
Information Policy at the Department of Computer Science; and Member of 
the Faculty of Philosophy. He is also Adjunct Professor, Department of 
Economics, American University, Washington D.C. Among his recognitions, 
he has been awarded the Cátedras de Excelencia Prize by the University 
Carlos III of Madrid (2014-15), was the UNESCO Chair in Information and 
Computer Ethics and Gauss Professor of the Academy of Sciences in 
Göttingen. He is a recipient of the APA's Barwise Prize, the IACAP's 
Covey Award, and the INSEIT's Weizenbaum Award. He is an AISB and BCS 
Fellow, Editor in Chief of Philosophy & Technology and of the Synthese 
Library. In 2012, he was Chairman of EU Commission's "Onlife Initiative
