Dear colleagues, Due to unforeseen circumstances, our Spring 2018 fellowship candidate had to cancel. This means we have an opening for a visiting Senior Scholar in Law & Technology at the Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology, and Society for the Second semester of academic year 2017-2018. Details of the fellowship programme are in the enclosed call. Please contact me if you are interested in a research stay at TILT somewhere between 1 January 2018 and 1 July 2018 for a longer period. Dear colleagues, In a couple of weeks, the annual Nordic Conference in ICT Law will be hosted by the Norwegian Research Center for Computers and Law (NRCCL). This year’s theme is "Data Sharing and the Data Economy: Aspirations and Legal Realities". The goal of the conference is to examine aspects of European regulatory policy that critically impact upon data sharing and data economy initiatives. In particular, the conference seeks to cast light on the extent to which these initiatives are supported by the European legal framework. This is an essential step along the path to improving, if necessary, the fit between the law on the one hand and the ideals of data sharing and data economy on the other. Hi all, the newly founded Weizenbaum Institute in Berlin, Germany, has a social science phd position on blockchain technologies on offer: PhD student position on social aspects of blockchain technologies The research group "Trust in Distributed Environments" at WeizenbaumInstitute for the Networked Society in Berlin, Germany has an openposition for a PhD student researcher with a focus on social and governanceaspects of smart contracts and blockchain technologies. The group will be interdisciplinary; the willingness to work with other disciplines(computer science, law, economy) is therefore an essential aspect for the position. The position also includes participating in the activities of the research group and of WeizenbaumInstitute, including scientific events, transfer activities (to politics,society, media). The post is a 67% position in the German salary group TV-L E13.Requirements include a successfully completed scientific study programme(master level or equivalent) in the field of social sciences with avery good degree. Applicants should be able to work with IT (esp. and including office applications), have very good knowledge of English and be able and willing to work in a dynamic and highly interdisciplinary environment.
