Data: Mon, 22 Mar 2021 23:43:22 +0000 Dear colleagues, I am pleased to share information about the discussion panel the ACM Technology Policy Council is sponsoring with ACM’s Diversity and Inclusion Council, NSF, and Clarkson University *next Monday (March 29) at 11:30 PDT / 2:30 EDT / 8:30pm CET*, around the acclaimed documentary /Coded Bias /and the policy implications of algorithmic bias.  This event is hosted in celebration of Women’s History Month and continues our collective attention to issues of AI ethics in policy. We are fortunate to have three wonderful scholars participating in this discussion, drawn from our US, Europe, and Council groups, and a distinguished member of the legal profession.Two of the speakers are members of the Technology Policy Council – Latanya Sweeney and Jeanna Matthews – and they will be joined by EuropeTPC member Dame Wendy Hall (past President of ACM, and ACM Fellow) and federal Judge Bernice Donald (a leader in the American Bar Association on issues of technology and the law). We hope you will join us for this event next week (it is timed to be sensitive to our global time zones).  We also especially appreciate you sharing the announcement below with your colleagues and organizations – it is free, open to the public, and promises to be an engaging session.  Registration information is included at the end and provides free keyed access to the film.
