Aiutare RespectMyNet a mappare violazioni NN in Italia
Ricevo e, con piacere, inoltro questa richiesta di aiuto da parte di Axel Simon di La Quadrature Du Net, che si occupa del sito Respect My Net. Respect My Net (http://respectmynet.eu/) si propone di raccogliere e pubblicare segnalazioni di violazione della neutralita` della rete in Europa. Permettendo agli utenti di confermare le segnalazioni postate da altri utenti. Con l'obiettivo di dimostrare che c'e` un problema di neutralita` della rete in Europa. Come ricercatore e sviluppatore di Neubot.org trovo questo approccio molto interessante e penso che il sito meriti tutto l'appoggio possibile. In passato le violazioni della neutralita` della rete sono state scoperte da utenti curiosi che hanno investigato e postato sul web le loro scoperte. Centralizzando queste informazioni Respect My Net puo` diventare una miniera d'oro per chi vuole fare ricerca sulla neutralita` della rete. Operativamente, come si puo` fare a dare una mano? Certe violazioni della neutralita` della rete sono tricky da identificare, altre lo sono molto meno. Sto pensando per esempio a domini bloccati via DNS, all'impossibilita` di usare Skype via cellulare, etc. Adesso sono al Poli e non ho niente da rimproverare dalla rete del GARR. Piu` tardi quando torno a casa vedo che cosa posso fare, banalmente cercando ad esempio di capire se i problemi riportati per altri paesi e operatori si verificano anche da casa mia e/o usando la mia connessione 3G. As you probably know, BEREC is working on a report requested by the Commission about the factual Net Neutrality situation in Europe. If we are to prove to BEREC, and to the Commission, that there are indeed many cases of Net Neutrality violations all over Europe, and that a wait-and-see approach just won't cut it, we need evidence. So RespectMyNet.eu was launched with that intent. So far, we have quite a few reports, and a lot of the violations in different plans and contracts around Europe covered, but we are lacking two things: - confirmations - verification / validation We have been asking French citizens to confirm French operators' violations, but we need help to get more violations confirmed, and to have as many confirmation as possible. The numbers will really help show BEREC how widespread violations are and the scale of the problem. It would be great if you could ask your community to confirm the cases reported for your contry (as well as reporting any violation not already reported of course). LQDN is meeting with BEREC in 2 weeks, so having as many confirmations as possible by that time will be immensely helpful. Finally, once the cases are confirmed, we will still need to verify them before we can validate them. This basically means checking ourselves or finding trusted hackers to do so. We are still considering the best way of doing this, but it will clearly require some work. Given your experience with Neubot, you might have good ideas about how to go about this.
