il DNS poisoning dilaga: Due to a court order in France... the OpenDNS service is not currently available
--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8--- Due to a court order in France issued under Article L.333-10 of the French Sport code the OpenDNS service is not currently available to users in France and certain French territories. --8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8--- il mio alter ego gestisce un piccolo servizio di mailing list ospitato su una VM francese, che ha smesso di funzionare perché i nameservers che utilizza su quella macchina _da anni_ sono quelli di OpenDNS (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenDNS) il messaggio di cui sopra esce in risposta a qualsiasi query, tipo: --8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8--- g@narcisse:~$ dig biscuolo.net ; <<>> DiG 9.10.3-P4-Debian <<>> biscuolo.net ;; global options: +cmd ;; Got answer: ;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: REFUSED, id: 12832 ;; flags: qr rd ra; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 0, AUTHORITY: 0, ADDITIONAL: 2 ;; OPT PSEUDOSECTION: ; EDNS: version: 0, flags:; udp: 1410 ; OPT=15: 00 10 ("..") ;; QUESTION SECTION: ;biscuolo.net. The court ordered Google, Cloudflare, and Cisco to poison their DNS records to prevent these third-party services acting as workarounds for existing pirate site blockades. Cisco's response became evident on Friday when it withdrew its OpenDNS service from the entire country. [...] were ordered to implement technical measures to prevent access to Footybite.co, Streamcheck.link, SportBay.sx, TVFutbol.info, and Catchystream.com, among dozens of others. [...] To prevent these workarounds, last year Canal+ took legal action against three popular public DNS providers – Cloudflare (1.1.1.1), Google (8.8.8.8), and Cisco (208.69.38.205) – demanding blocking measures similar to those already implemented by French ISPs under Article L333-10 of the French Sports Code. The Paris judicial court responded this May by handing down two orders; one concerning Premier League matches and the other relating to matches played in the Champions League. The Court ordered Google, Cloudflare, and Cisco to implement measures to prevent French internet users from using their services to access around 117 pirate domains. Google previously indicated it would comply and during the last 24 hours, OpenDNS complied too, although perhaps not in the manner Canal+ or the Court had anticipated. --8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8--- maggiori dettagli in FR qui: https://www.bortzmeyer.org/opendns-quitte-france.html che noia, 380° -- 380° (Giovanni Biscuolo public alter ego) «Noi, incompetenti come siamo, non abbiamo alcun titolo per suggerire alcunché» Disinformation flourishes because many people care deeply about injustice but very few check the facts.
