D-CENT is now seen as one of the most credible experiments across Europe; able to shape the adoption of digital democracy tools and drive new experiments globally. *To showcase and celebrate the results of the D-CENT project a week-long programme of activity is taking place from the 23-28 May in Madrid, Spain: "Commons technology and the right to a democratic city <http://dcentproject.eu/event/common-technology-and-the-democratic-city/>". The programme includes a Democracy Lab <http://dcentproject.eu/dcentmadrid/democracy-lab> and an International Conference <http://dcentproject.eu/dcentmadrid/conference>.* *Democracy Lab* The week begins with a four-day Democracy Lab, at Medialab-Prado <http://medialab-prado.es/>, delivering workshops, hackathons and open sessions to develop, think and design tools, processes and strategies for democratic participation. As part of the week we are holding an *Open Call* for sessions on Wednesday and Thursday. *Apply to get involved* <http://www.dcentproject.eu/open-call>. *International Conference* The *Commons technology and the right to a democratic city* international conference (27-28 May, Museo Reina Sofia <http://www.museoreinasofia.es/en>) will conclude the week’s activities. Prompting discussion on network democracy, new forms of citizen participation and digital commons in democratic Cities, the conference will showcase the success of the European D-CENT project and look at the future of digital democracy. The event will gather politicians, activists, researchers, social movements, hackers and Cities to explore innovative methods, digital tools, and policies to strengthen large-scale citizen participation in the political process at European and global level. Participants will debate public policies at the municipal, national and European level to transform democracy and promote transparency to devolve power to citizens and fight concentration of power within public institutions.
