This piece is ignoring "Why ads are devastating the users you are". Sites that have endorsed a model where they force contents on users that the users do not want are now begging for our understanding. They would use their time and ours better by asking us to pay them or support them, and by inventing models where this can be done without creating attention or transaction costs.
