Dear all,
We are happy to provide you with some updates on what we are doing in order to make sure we get a better copyright for education.
We are making good progress with developing our campaign website to collect signatures from educators throughout Europe. The website will go live on the 27th of March, the first day of Open Education week. The website will be in English, French and German. You can see a couple of screenshots of the website here. We would like to ask you to help us promoting this website in your network. In order to do so we will provide you with shareables such as banners and images in English, French and German next week. You can use these to reach out to educators on the different social media platforms. It will also possible to translate the shareables for social media yourself to your language of preference - they will be in open formats easy to edit
We are looking for people that can help us with translating the website into more languages under a CC0 dedication. You can find the text that would need translation is here. We have written an email that you can send to your network asking for translation. We would need the translations preferably by 23th of March but we can also individually agree with you on another deadline. The priority is to engage people and institutions in as many EU countries as it is possible. Please contact us if you can help us with this.
We are organising an event about better copyright for education in the European Parliament in late spring. We will present all the signatures that we received from stakeholders and educators through our campaign website. It will be one of the last opportunities before the voting procedure to show that a large amount of stakeholders and educators want a better copyright for education.
We would like to remind you that we are organising a skype call on the 13th of April at 10.00 -12.00 CET. If you have not done so already, let us know whether you want to attend the Skype call and send us your Skype ID. We would appreciate if you could do so before March 31st. During the call we will discuss the the progress of campaign website rightcopyright.eu to get teachers and educators involved for a better copyright for education that will already be live by then.
