Segnalo il Progetto "Copyright for Education <http://www.communia-association.org/c4ed/>” portato avanti da Communia.
Dal sito:
The aim of COMMUNIA’s project Copyright for Education is twofold. First, we will continue legal research on educational exceptions and limitations, based on the research done by Teresa Nobre. With the aim of providing reliable evidence to COMMUNIA and other stakeholders that wish to engage in discussions concerning the European Commission plans to make legislative proposals on the EU exception for “illustration for teaching”. This legal research will map the fragmented landscape of copyright rules in Europe. This enables us to see how copyright restricts teachers in doing what they do best. Secondly, we will conduct research on modern educational practices with relation to copyright. The digital era has created many opportunities for teachers to teach their students in new and engaging ways. We will interview teachers in different members states of the European Union that use digital technology in their classes to understand which outdated legal rules limit modern, innovative education. The outcomes of this research will help us understand what an education exception should encompass.
Come parte di questi progetto, Communia ha organizzato una riunione con vari stakeholders, dove:
we discussed concrete examples of copyright problems with the present stakeholders, we shared a number of ideas on copyright that would benefit education and solve these problems: • It would be better if there was an education exception that is in every country and the same to enable collaboration between teachers and the sharing of knowledge. • We prefer exceptions over licenses. This creates a unified copyright landscape. • We prefer an education exception ‘for educational purposes’ so that the exceptions is not limited to educational establishments. • We think that using materials for educational purposes under this exception should be non-remunerated
E come risultato della riunione:
We have prepared a joint letter that we can send to MEPs, informing them of our worries surrounding the draft directive on copyright in the Digital Single Market.
La lettera (che verrà inviata nella prima settimana di Febbraio a tutti i membri del Parlamento Europeo) è qui: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1J4HkgqPjM5x0qsf89uwDs28SGCVxbKFQZYijNANk... <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1J4HkgqPjM5x0qsf89uwDs28SGCVxbKFQZYijNANk...>.
Saluti Fabio
