So a man with these weird and disgusting opinions was NOT, because of them, dangerous in such role. FSF is about software. And being Culture, Software is HIGHLY Political. A man like RMS, highly problematical as he IS, at the head of FSF was a precise Political message: hackers don't give a shit about the mainstream "wisdom" (which, I want to recall you, is just USA money-based Moralism marketed as the one True Ethics on a global scale). Mainstream people pretend to be liberal, to be for freedom and CivilRights, but they lynch a man for what he says. It's not just the usual business-driven hypocrisy. It's ignorance. Ignorance that somebody want to keep exploiting.
