"Unmitigated skepticism regarding the potential risks of AI systems has the potential to
have a detrimental impact on the long-term flourishing of humanity. This skepticism questions
the necessity of incorporating necessary safeguards into intelligent systems, and creates a
misplaced doubt and reduction of attention with regards to the allocation of resources for
ensuring the safety and security of such systems. It is, therefore, of the greatest importance that
we take steps to explicitly call out instances of AI risk skepticism and address them head-on.
Both the development and deployment of AI represent one of the most significant
technological advancements of all-time. As such, it is imperative that we approach this
development with the appropriate amount of caution, and that we take necessary steps to better
ensure the safety and security of the intelligent systems that we are creating. This means
allocating the necessary resources, developing appropriate safeguards, and engaging in open and
honest discussions about the potential risks associated with AI. The unchecked skepticism of AI
risk represents a threat to the long-term flourishing of humanity. It then becomes our duty to
address this issue with the seriousness and weight that it carries, and to take all necessary steps to
ensure the responsible and ethical development of AI technologies."
