In a way this symbolic signing is the kickstarter of the campaign for
killing ACTA in the European parliament. We actually have been preparing
this moment for months, but now is the signal.

As everybody receiving the info that "ACTA is being signed", being a
non-expert in international law thinks "OMG ACTA IS GETTING REAL" I
think it is our duty to explain that:

- yes most country will just sign ACTA and be able to ratify it without
any democratic oversight *and this is outrageous*

- no ACTA is not "there" yet because there is still a chance that the EU
kicks it out for good.

- As the EU may be one of the rare negotiating parties where a
democratically elected parliament will pronounce itself and the only one
with enough weight to kill it, we should all be watchful for what is
happening there.

Any light you will be able to shine on the EU process will help increase
the pressure at this stage, while we are doing the inside job.

Also if you think of other ways than regularly detailing this process,
to put pressure from the outside, feel free ;)

(ideas that come out of my mind are: getting ambassadors or government
from countries *outside* of ACTA to explain why they are affraid of it /
get academics to write about how criminal sanctions for "aiding and
abetting infringement on a commercial scale" is a bad idea / having ppl
write to the EU Parliament and its Members / etc.)

This is a tough battle, but it is winnable.
