Buongiorno,

The analysis, based on data across 11 countries, highlights a series of stylised facts:
- AI is more widely used across large firms
- Shares of AI users appear to some extent higher across younger firms
- Shares of AI adoption are consistently higher in ICT and Professional Services, suggesting that AI use is not yet equally spread across all sectors
- Several complementary assets are significantly linked to AI use
- AI users tend to be on average more productive than other firms

A polarised adoption, mainly by larger and more productive firms, combined with a role of AI strengthening their advantages, may imply that in the future existing gaps between leaders and the rest of the firm population may widen, with relevant implications for social outcomes. Policy makers can play a key role in this context, supporting an inclusive digital transformation.
