Dr. David Megías, director of the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3), is pleased to be able to invite you to the event to mark 20 years since the founding of the institute.
The event will involve the Honourable Dr. Manuel Castells, Professor of Sociology at the UOC and the current Spanish Minister for Universities, who will give a talk on the evolution of the internet over recent years: “The Network Society in the age of pandemics”.
This will be followed by a round table discussion moderated by UOC professor Dr. Marina Garcés.
The panel will include (in alphabetical order):
Prof. Fernando Calderón, Professor at Argentina's Universidad Nacional San Martín (UNSAM) and Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO).
Prof. Hana Jalloul, expert on radicalization and its relation to identity.
Dr. Diana Roig Sanz, ERC grant holder and ICREA Research Professor at the IN3.
Prof. Dr. Felix Stalder, Professor of Digital Culture at Zurich University of the Arts.
Prof. Ida Susser, Distinguished Professor of Anthropology at Hunter College and the CUNY Graduate Center.
Prof. John Thompson, Professor of Sociology and Emeritus Fellow of Jesus College, Cambridge.
