By transcending geographical boundaries and becoming an integral part of the common digital infrastructure, open source brings the values of cooperation, transparency and innovation to the fore. Submissions for the Symposium Call for Proposals (CfP) are now open until 7 August. We are seeking proposals from academics and practitioners alike, which advance our understanding of open source and open technologies. Presenting at the Symposium will give you the opportunity to engage with the leading voices of the open source ecosystem and link research agendas. The Symposium is interdisciplinary and is open to a wide range of topics. Areas of importance this year include but are not limited to: 1. Contribution of open source on macroeconomic value creation 2. The effects of market regulation on the development of open source software 3. Funding of open source development and maintenance by public and private actors 4. The role of open technologies in a competitive technology market 5. Microeconomic factors influencing open source adoption by SMEs 6.
