Some of you might be interested in the Data Governance School LatAm (DGSL), a new initiative we are launching as an academic spinoff of the Computers Privacy and Data Protection conference Latin America (CPDP LatAm). 

The DGSL will take place on 27, 28, 29 April, at FGV Law School in Rio de Janeiro and applications are open until 15 March. We have a limited number of scholarships to foster the inclusion of LGBTQI+ communities, black, indigenous and quilombola applicants in situations of social vulnerability.

The DGSL aims to develop learning and research, facilitating the exchange of best practices on data governance in Latin America and will be structured into 3 modules: 

1. Exploring and comparing Latin American data protection systems to identify convergences and divergences. 
2. Analysis of latest technological and regulatory developments in data governance at the regional level, such as Artificial Intelligence, international data transfers, regulatory sandboxes etc. 
3. Discussion of the latest global developments, such as personal data regulation in China, India, and the BRICS, the relationship between data protection and competition, and the impact these issues have on Latin America. 

A relevant part of the lectures will focus on case studies proposed by an outstanding group of lecturers, including some of the most prominent academics of the region, several top ranked business executives, and the agenda will feature presentations by almost all data protection regulators in Latin America. https://cpdp.lat/data-governance-school-latam/
