In the context of our newest project at the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG), we would like to share the following vacant positions with you.

How can artificial intelligence solve societal and ecological challenges? We are actively looking for three motivated people to join the research project ‘Impact AI: Evaluation of the societal impact of AI systems for sustainability and the public interest’. In 15 case studies, our research team is developing a transdisciplinary method for auditing AI projects together with partners such as Greenpeace and Gemeinwohl-Ökonomie e.V. (Economy for the Common Good). The goal is to assess the opportunities and limitations of AI systems for societal transformation and ecological sustainability. Postdoctoral researcher (m/f/d)

Field of expertise: Computer science, data science or related field

Duration of employment: Fixed-term, 5 years

Scope: Full-time (min. 70%, if part-time)

Compensation: TV-L 13/14 (dependent on qualification)

Duration of employment: Fixed-term, 3 years, optional extension

Scope: 65% (part-time)
