Invitation to UNGA Side Event: The Power of the Commons  
The Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit that operates Wikipedia, is pleased to invite you to attend the upcoming event at the United Nations Headquarters: The Power of the Commons: Digital Public Goods for a More Secure, Inclusive, and Resilient World during the Summit of the Future Action Days.

The Pact for the Future and Global Digital Compact offer an important opportunity to ensure that Digital Public Goods (DPGs) and Digital Public Infrastructures (DPIs) are able to shape our digital world for the public good. This event will spotlight success stories and explore how DPGs and DPIs can ensure that people around the world have a say in how technology is developed and governed, bridge digital divides, empower communities, and advance Sustainable Development Goals. The event will also tackle governance challenges and map a path toward a globally inclusive digital future.

Event access: Anyone with a valid UN Grounds Pass for the UN Headquarters in New York — including members of official government delegations, UN entities, IGOs, media, affiliates and retirees — are able to attend the event and access UN Headquarters premises on September 20-21 without additional registration.
Those without a UN Grounds Pass must register online before Friday, September 6, at 5:00 PM EDT.
